Health Insurance and Managed Care: What They Are and How They Work, Fourth Edition was published in March 2015. Like the Essentials, it as a substantial overhaul and revision in the series. This book is used in undergraduate programs, but has found its primary use in training programs for professionals who need to understand the basics of managed health care, but who do not necessarily need to be expert in it. The book provides an overview of the main elements in the health insurance and managed care industry, but does not contain the same level of detail found in The Essentials.
